Education and Early Years
Kristoffer Dolatko was one of the leading violin teachers in Denmark. Who had been devoted to the instrument from a young age, showing remarkable talent and dedication early on.
He graduated from Feliks Nowowiejski School of Music in Gdansk (Poland) where he studied with Professor Krystyna Jurecka, continuing his studies at the Stanislaw Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdansk in the class of Professor Henryk Keszkowski.
He moved from his native Poland to Denmark in 1990. During many years he played in the Aalborg Symphony Orchestra and taught at different music schools as well as teaching at the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus.
He had also been invited to be a member of the jury of many competitions as well as summer courses.
International Teaching
In 2008 he was appointed to the position of violin tutor at the famous and prestigious Chetham's School of Music in Manchester, where he was working with some of the most talented children from Great Britain and abroad for 12 years. Furthermore he taught at the Danish National Academy of Music (SDMK - Syddansk Musikkonservatorium in Odense/Esbjerg. For many years he was involved in YOMA (Young Musicians Academy) due to his employement at the National Center for Music Talents (Nationellt centrum för musiktalanger) in Vänersborg.
Legacy and The Dolatko Method
His students have been awarded many prizes at national and international competitions. Kristoffer was always exploring and searching for new methods of teaching, practising and developing talented young musicians in the best possible way.
All the experience he gained from both performing and teaching, which he had been applying in his method since 2014, was compiled into his book The Dolatko Method: Divide Et Impera – a reliable system of left-hand exercises, giving a thorough knowledge of the fingerboard, helping to maintain good physical form, and leading to improved intonation and a greater capacity to learn new pieces more quickly.
